Substance abuse among adolescents—especially in rural and under-informed communities—is a growing concern. At Bhartya Yuvak Khelkud Avam Vikas Sansthan, we proactively address this issue through our Alcohol and Tobacco Control Program, which focuses on prevention through early awareness and education.
Our interventions are designed to be engaging, age-appropriate, and impactful, targeting school-going children and rural youth. So far, we’ve reached over 649 students through:
School-based awareness drives that openly address the dangers of tobacco and alcohol
Dental health screenings that visually show the early damage caused by tobacco use
Creative educational tools, including posters, booklets, and group activities that spark conversation and critical thinking
Interactive workshops that promote refusal skills, peer leadership, and mental well-being
What makes our program effective is its community-based approach. We actively involve school teachers and trained volunteers who help deliver and sustain these messages long after a session ends—creating a continuous support system within the student’s daily environment.
Our goal is to empower young minds with the knowledge and confidence to make healthier choices—and become role models for their peers.
